Blender 3D

I have been learning for about a year (to a high degree) a piece of software called Blender. Blender is a completely free and open source 3D Modeler/Renderer/Texture mapper/Animater to name a few of it’s many capabilities.

I also recently downloaded the Trial Version of MAYA* Guess which I liked better? No really. Try, I won’t laugh at you.

You What! Ha Ha Ha! No. Not Really. I liked Blender better. For modeling Blender is the best.

Oh Man! I forgot to tell you! There is a 800 dollar difference between Maya and Blender, big difference.

*Maya is the Pro Software used by:

  • Pixar
  • DreamWorks
  • VeggieTales
  • Most Game Developers

Back to Blender…

In blender I can unwrap the mesh that I’ve made an then I can map a real image that I’ve gotten off of Google Image Search (Or taken myself) onto my mesh so that I can export it OUT of blender and import it IN to the level that I am building elsewhere.
